Our Sunday school hour starts at 9:45. It’s a chance to learn about God in a peer group setting. Lessons are usually on a particular book of the bible, a Biblical character, or a specific topic. It’s also a time to share in life’s successes and struggles. Sunday school is a time to discuss, ask questions, and search the scriptures together.
Our Sunday morning worship services are a time to come together, greet each other in the Lord, and praise God through hymns and songs. We hear his eternal word as it is read aloud and proclaimed in sermon, exhorting us to learn more about His purposes and plans for our lives. Our congregations meets as a whole in our historic sanctuary at 11:00 AM. Pastor Berry often selects a book of the Bible or a certain topic and usually preaches in a series style.
The congregational singing of hymns and songs is mostly of a traditional style. We sing hymns and songs which reflect our rich Baptist heritage from composes such as Fanny Crosby, Phillip Bliss, Bill and Gloria Gaither and others. The musical accompaniment is usually a combination of organ, piano and trumpet. On certain occasions special musical presentations may also be included.
Yes! In the summer of 2013 our churched emerged into the 21st century and installed two high-efficiency air conditioning units, keeping the main sanctuary comfortable in the hottest and most humid of South Jersey summers.
